Why Now? A New Chapter in Pickering’s Story
We’re ready to build. 🔗
Every company has defining moments. Some arrive boldly. Others unfold slowly, through steady work and trusted relationships that quietly pave the way for what’s next.
At Pickering, we’re in one of those moments now. With new leadership, a fresh look at our goals, and a shared commitment to what matters most, we’re turning the page with intention and clarity.
A Strong Foundation
We’re proud of where we’ve been. Our teams are experienced, our leadership is stepping into new roles with purpose, and our company is rooted in a mission that has carried us for nearly 80 years: Service and Good Work.
We’ve been debt-free for over 20 years, more than 80% of our work comes from repeat clients, and many of our employees have built long, meaningful careers here. That kind of stability doesn’t just happen, it’s earned; and it’s what allows us to pause, reflect, and plan for what’s next with confidence.
Honoring Our Legacy, Embracing What’s Next
As previously announced 🔗, Mike Pohlman, who has dedicated over 45 years to Pickering, will retire in June. His impact on our company, our culture, and our clients is immeasurable.
As we look ahead, Bob Pitts will step into the role of Chief Executive Officer, and Mike Foster will serve as President. Together, they bring a strong balance of continuity and fresh leadership to guide Pickering into its next chapter.
We’re also expanding our business development goals with the appointment of Curt Craig as Vice President of Business Development, a move that reflects our continued focus on thoughtful, strategic growth.
Realigning, Evolving, and Staying True
This leadership transition has given us a natural moment to reflect and take a closer look at where we’re going and how we want to get there.
We’re not reinventing who we are. We’re reaffirming it.
That means doubling down on what matters most: our people, our technology, and the quality of work our clients rely on. We’re expanding thoughtfully, mentoring the next generation, and creating more space for collaboration, innovation, and long-term impact.
The way we work is always evolving, and we’re embracing that with intention. From data-informed design to emerging field technologies, we’re finding smarter, more efficient ways to deliver value without losing the personal connections that set us apart.
At Pickering, innovation isn’t about being the flashiest or the first. It’s about being prepared, practical, and focused on doing things the right way; so we can keep building what matters, for the people who matter.
We’re proud of our past, and we’re hopeful about what’s ahead. We’re steady, we’re growing, and we’re ready to build.
