Pickering provided environmental consulting services for the West Flat Branch Interceptor Sewer Project (S14) in Harrison County, Mississippi. This gravity sewer line project was undertaken by Harrison County Utility Authority and has affected 18.16 acres of important coastal forested drain wetlands habitat. Pickering was responsible for guiding Harrison County Utility Authority through the Department of the Army Section 404 wetland permitting process, as well as developing a wetland restoration plan that will restore full functionality to the wetland and allow the habitat to return to its preconstruction nature.

Pickering’s Services:

  • Preparation of accurate maps locating the project area in relation to surrounding wetlands and streams

  • Coordination with U.S. Army Corps of Engineers & Harrison County Utility Authority including on-site visits & meetings at the Corps’ Mobile, AL office

  • Development & submittal of section 404 wetland permit application

  • Development & implementation of wetland restoration plan
