Fresh Design for Wright Medical’s New Headquarters in East Memphis

Wright Medical’s new headquarters reflects great design, and Pickering’s architects, Tom McConnell and Tim Ogburn, along with interior designer, Valli Wiggins, created that design.

The project consisted of a renovation of two existing buildings on a 35 acre wooded campus in the heart of Memphis. The site is located near the Memphis Botanic Gardens and borders the Dixon Art Gallery property. The office building was formerly the headquarters for Holiday Inn and Promus Companies. Later, Harrah’s Entertainment was headquartered inside the buildings.

Building 1 was built in 1984 and consisted of a 3 floor renovation that is approximately 78,000 SF. Building 2 was built in 1994 and consisted of renovations of the lower level and the first floor, and is approximately 61,000 SF. Both buildings were renovated simultaneously and the renovation time frame was dramatically condensed into an approximately 3 month time frame.

Every effort was made to create a unique, modern design that encompasses their corporate color scheme and their desire of their corporate core values of “focused excellence.”
