75 Year Celebration Kickoff

Pickering officially celebrated our 75th Anniversary on March 15. As part of our ongoing celebration of our 75th Anniversary, Pickering’s Memphis administrative group and survey crew formed “Team March” and focused on serving their community and spreading kindness to their neighbors, friends and family throughout the month.

To kickoff the celebration, Team March spent a Friday afternoon at the MidSouth Food Bank sorting and packing food boxes. The team also began a drive to collect housewarming baskets for the Community Alliance Foundation for the Homeless in Memphis. Team March, though one of the smaller teams in our 75 Acts competition, was able to fill 8 large laundry baskets with household cleaning items for newly rehomed families!

Throughout the month, team members also served lunch at the Memphis Union Mission, collected and delivered clothes for Dress for Success, gave blood at Vitalant, and donated items to the LeBonheur FedEx Family House.

After a month of giving back, here is what team co-captain Beverly Pogue had to say:

“Celebrating Pickering’s 75 years in business by performing 75 Acts of Kindness speaks volume. Service, Good Work and Kindness have come together in one way, wholeheartedly. It was an awesome feeling throughout the entire month, so it is hard to single out one part, but probably my favorite activity was presenting gifts to our housekeepers and maintenance to let them know much we appreciate their Service, Good Work and Kindness.”
