Traffic Study

Pickering was selected by Arkansas State University (ASU) for an On-Call Engineering contract. The first task awarded under that contract was the Aggie Road Improvements Project.

This section of roadway acts as one of the main entrances onto the ASU campus. Because of this, the administration wanted the entrance improved aesthetically while maintaining its functionality. To accomplish this, Pickering collected traffic data and performed a traffic analysis to provide improvement recommendations.

Using the preferred alternate, Pickering prepared roadway designs incorporating the findings of this study. Improvements included upgrading the roadway lighting, installation of curb and gutter, channeling islands, improved signing and striping, and a pedestrian crossing with a flashing beacon at the future campus multi-use trail.

Plans were developed using the City of Jonesboro design standards and specifications.
