We're excited to announce that, as of October 16, 2026, Hodge Engineering Company, Inc., a multidisciplinary engineering firm based in Knoxville, Tennessee, has officially joined the Pickering family!
This marks an important milestone for Pickering as we establish our presence in East Tennessee and welcome a talented team with nearly 40 years of experience serving clients throughout the southeastern United States.
Hodge brings extensive experience in mechanical, structural, and electrical engineering, along with architectural design services. Their work spans a wide range of facility improvements, clients, and project types. The addition of the Knoxville team strengthens our Facilities Design group, expanding our expertise and capacity while opening the door for collaboration across our other disciplines.

"We're excited to welcome the Hodge team to Pickering," said Bob Pitts, Chief Executive Officer of Pickering. "As we've gotten to know their team, it's become clear that we share many of the same values, including a commitment to quality work, strong client relationships, and the belief that our people are our greatest asset. We're looking forward to building on the strengths of both firms and the opportunities ahead."
For 80 years, Pickering has been guided by the mission established by our founder: "Service and Good Work. Our Foundation. Our Future." It's a commitment we see reflected in Hodge's history, their work, and the relationships they've built with clients and communities throughout East Tennessee. That alignment was important to Hodge's founder, Jim Hodge, and its president, Mike Treadway, as they considered the firm's future.
“Mike and I feel confident that Pickering is the right place for our team,” said Jim. “As we've gotten to know the firm, we've recognized many of the same values that have guided Hodge over the years. We're excited about the opportunities this creates for our employees and clients and look forward to seeing what our teams can accomplish together.”
With the addition of our Knoxville office, we're looking forward to building relationships in East Tennessee, supporting our new colleagues, and bringing the combined experience of both teams to the clients and communities we serve.
Please join us in welcoming the Knoxville team to Pickering!
