Pickering was enlisted by the Mid-South Food Bank to provide architectural and engineering design services for the renovation of a 150,000 SF warehouse.

Mid-South Food Bank wished to relocate all 3 of their existing storage and distribution facilities to the newly purchased warehouse. The goal of the renovation was to maximize efficiency by keeping all aspects of the food bank’s operations under one roof.

Several adaptations to the new warehouse were required to make this transition successful. This included designing an extensive walk-in cooler and refrigeration area with 25’ high-ceilings, as well as an industrial kitchen and mini-supermarket. A volunteer sorting area, meeting rooms and corporate offices were also added, along with a recycling salvage station and 30 loading docks.
