Passengers using MATA’s new facility at Airways and Brooks will have greater travel connection options as Greyhound joins MATA in the new $15.8 million building, the first green project for both. Bus riders aren’t just getting a smart new facility though. MATA will also be providing passengers with a new “SmartTraveler” system that will provide real-time information about arrival times, delays and other pertinent schedule information via electronic signage and passengers’ Internet devices.
Pickering performed a boundary and topographical survey of the Brooks and Airways facility for MATA for demo and design purposes. We are also currently under contract with RNR Consulting to provide Geographic Information System (GIS) data to assist in mapping the stops on MATA routes to support the launch of the new SmartTraveler system in early 2012.
